Cape Town - Former WWE Tag Team champion Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart has died. He was 63.
ESPN reported that Neidhart fell at his home in Florida and hit his head, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office.
According to the Wrestling Inc website and TMZ, Neidhart's wife Elizabeth told emergency personnel that her husband collapsed while apparently having a seizure and hit his head when falling.
Elizabeth added that Jim got out of bed after having difficulty sleeping, and went to change the thermostat. Jim went to touch the thermostat and "turned weirdly as if he were about to dance. He then fell towards the wall and ground," the investigation report states.
Elizabeth called 911 because she thought he was having a seizure as he "suffers from seizures and takes medication" for them.
Jim's last seizure was in December 2017 and doctors also believed that he may have had Alzheimer's disease, according to Elizabeth.
Emergency officials arrived at the Neidhart home in Florida and found Jim on the floor with a four inch gash on his face. Investigators found medication at the home but it was noted that "none of the medication appeared to have been abused."
Neidhart reached his highest level of success and celebrity as one half of the two-time WWE tag team champion Hart Foundation in the late 1980s alongside his real-life brother-in-law Bret Hart. The 6-foot-2, 280-pound native of Florida, married Hart's sister Ellie in 1979. He is survived by their three daughters.
Although Neidhart is not a member of the WWE Hall of Fame and hasn't regularly been featured in storylines or appearances as a WWE legend, he did have a recurring role alongside Natalya in recent years on the E! reality show "Total Divas."
Natalya, real name Natalie, is a former WWE SmackDown women's champion and WWE Divas champion.
