American football team to visit South Africa

Ann Arbor - An American football college team has plans for a pre-season trip to South Africa.

Jim Harbaugh, who is the head coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines, has confirmed that he is taking his team to South Africa in 2019.

Harbaugh revealed the destination of next year's trip on Monday during an interview with WTKA-AM. He says the Wolverines will visit Cape Town and Johannesburg and go on a safari.

Harbaugh took his team to France this year and Italy last year.

"We're going to (South) Africa," Harbaugh said. "We're going to Johannesburg and Cape Town and we're going to do a safari. How about that? How about a safari?

"I'm looking forward to it."

The coach has maintained throughout the process that he plans to make the overseas trips something his teams at Michigan do on an annual basis.
