R12m belt for Mayweather vs Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will finally meet on May 2 in Las Vegas.

Cape Town - Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's historic fight is already riddled with ridiculous numbers, the World Boxing Council had added one more.

It was reported that tickets for the May 2 bout in Las Vegas would cost as much as R90 000, and now the World Boxing Council (WBC) announced the winner will be presented with an emerald belt worth R12.3 million.

Boxing fans were asked to vote on the WBC's website between an emerald and Onyx belt. The emerald belt won by the margin of 53% against the 47% of the Onyx belt.
