DID YOU KNOW ... The 2016 Rio Olympics are the 19th Games attended by South Africa?

South Africa first attended the 1904 Olympics in St Louis, USA where they failed to win a medal.

They attended every Olympics thereafter until 1960 in Rome, after which the country was banned until being readmitted in 1992 in Barcelona.

South Africa have been part of the Games ever since.
