Tractor accident forces Teuns out of San Sebastian Classic

Paris - Belgian cyclist Dylan Teuns will miss the San Sebastian Classic on Saturday after needing 15 stitches in a head wound caused by an accident when driving his tractor, his team announced.

The 27-year-old, who won stage six on the Tour de France last month, bashed his forehead on the steering wheel of the vehicle while gardening at his home in Halen.

"Dylan suffered a facial wound, that required 15 stitches in his forehead," said Team Bahrain Merida in a statement.

"Due to this, unfortunately, he will miss the upcoming Clasica San Sebastian."

Tour de France champion Egan Bernal will be at the start in Spain just six days after his victory in Paris.

Bernal has unfinished business at the San Sebastian having broken his nose in a heavy fall in the 2018 edition.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
