Dubai - Australia's Caleb Ewan admitted his light-weight frame helped power him to victory over his heavier-set rivals on the fourth stage of the Tour of the UAE on Wednesday.
The stage, which wound its way up a series of gruelling climbs to the finish at the picturesque Hatta Dam, saw the Lotto Soudal rider sprint away from Italy's Matteo Moschetti of Trek-Segafredo and race leader, Slovenia's Primoz Roglic of Jumbo-Visma.
"My advantage over the other sprinters today was that I weigh 67kg against 80kg for them, which is useful for me on gradients at 17%," said the 24-year-old Australian after wrapping up the 197km stage by a slender two seconds.
Roglic retains his overall lead with a 21-second advantage over Spain's world champion Alejandro Valverde and 38 seconds ahead of France's David Gaudu.
