Burgos to host start of 2021 Vuelta

Madrid - The Vuelta a Espana in 2021 will start in Burgos in northern Spain to celebrate the eighth centenary of the city's cathedral.

"Burgos will host the start of La Vuelta in its 2021 edition as part of the acts of commemoration of the 800 years the cathedral will celebrate in 2021," Vuelta organisers announced on Thursday.

It is the first time that Burgos will host an official start of the Vuelta, which is one of cycling's three annual Grand Tours along with the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia.
