Vuelta 2018 starts at Malaga's Pompidou Centre

Paris - The 2018 Vuelta a Espana will embark from the South Coast town of Malaga on August 25, organisers said on Monday.

The Andalusian town where the artist Pablo Picasso was born is also nearby the busy tourist hubs of the Costa del Sol where vast numbers of tourists holiday.

The start line will staged in the main port in front of the new Pompidou Centre with a 12km individual time-trial which will end on one of the town's iconic boulevards.

The full route will be revealed in January with eight or ten mountain stages expected to feature in one of cycling's three Grand Tour.
