Thibaut Pinot wins Criterium International

Col de L'ospedale - Frenchman Thibaut Pinot won the Criterium International after claiming the final stage of the two-day race in Corsica featuring an uphill finish on Sunday.

Pinot built his success on Saturday's individual time trial around Porto-Vecchio when he posted his first win this season to capture the leader's yellow jersey.

Pinot, who finished third at the Tour de France two years ago, increased his lead in Sunday's 171.5-kilometre final stage with a solo victory at the Col de l'Ospedale.

France claimed the stage's top three spots, with Pierre-Roger Latour seven seconds behind Pinot while Arnold Jeannesson trailed 12 seconds back.

Latour finished second overall, 37 seconds behind Pinot. Sam Oomen of the Netherlands completed the podium.
