Cancellara leads Trek veterans at TDF

Paris - American outfit Trek is placing its faith in experience at the Tour de France with a team announced Monday led by time-trial specialist Fabian Cancellara.

The 35-year-old Swiss veteran is competing for the last time in the race before retirement. He has seven stage wins to his name.

Cancellera is joined by Spain's Haimar Zubeldia, for whom this is a 15th appearance in the race, Markel Irizar, Frank Schleck and Gregory Rast, all of whom are over 35.

Dutch rider Bauke Mollema, sixth overall in 2013, will also be wearing the American team's colours when the Tour starts at Mont St Michel on Saturday.
