Lance stripped of BBC award

London - Lance Armstrong has been stripped of a prestigious BBC award in the wake of the doping scandal that cost the American cyclist his seven Tour de France titles and smeared his reputation.

Armstrong won the British broadcaster's Overseas Sports Personality of the Year prize in 2003 after capturing his final Tour victory, but his name was absent from the list of previous winners in the programme for the 2012 event.

The BBC says in a statement that it took the decision "following the UCI's decision to strip Lance Armstrong of his Tour de France titles".

A US Anti-Doping Agency report in October implicated Armstrong and his teams in a widespread drugs programme, leading to him being banned from cycling for life.

Why don't they just go and chop his other ball off and get it over and done with!

Chopped off long ago, and mixed into the rubbish they put into his drip!

Suffer you dishonest maaifoedie and may it never stop. You were/are a disgrace to the sport.

Remember - just to keep up with him and his team, during the most gruelling race in the world, ALL the other riders would also have had to take drugs. It would be a physical impossibility otherwise. Two choices: two classes - one for druggies, one for the non-druggies, or ..... who wins wins, with no tests. Otherwise? No more Tour de France.

Who would want a BBC award anyways? Don't worry Lance your fans still love you!

      joe.smit.549 - 2012-12-18 14:37

Why. Because his drugs gave him staying power?

      roy.wadhams.1 - 2012-12-18 14:42

Fans still love guys like him who earn their recognition by being dishonest and one finds that these people are also dishonest who support Armstrong.

Such hypocrites them BBC chaps. They overlooked the abuse mess knowing full well what was happening in their backyard. Now they have the galls to give Armstrong a hard time. Sort the log out in your eye before you point-out splinters in others.
