Crash mars Argus Cycle Tour

Cape Town - Ashleigh Moolman won the women's race at the Argus Cycle Tour, which was marred by a crash involving more than 20 riders on Sunday.

Some of the elite women favoured for the title were involved in the accident and were sent to hospital, including defending champion Cherise Taylor, who was placed in a neck brace, and Robyn de Groot.

Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg easily won a sprint finish in the men's race. As they wound up for the sprint, former champion Arran Brown veered left and nearly hit the pavement, but managed to correct himself as Janse van Rensburg pulled clear for victory.
