Tandy adds to Team SA's medal haul in the pool

Cape Town - Swimming star Brad Tandy added to Team SA's medal haul in the pool at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on Australia's Gold Coast on Tuesday.

Tandy finished second in the men's 50m freestyle, picking up the silver medal for his efforts in a time of 21.81.

England's Benjamin Proud scorched to victory in 21.35, with Australia's Cameron McEvoy taking bronze (21.92).

Meanwhile, Tandy's compatriot Brent Szurdoki finished in fourth place in the men's 1 500m in 15:28.60, some 41 seconds behind winner Australia's Jack McLoughlin.

In the final event for women, Team SA's 4x100m medley relay team finished seventh in the final (4:12.02), in a race that was won by Australia in a new Commonwealth Games record time of 3:54.36, ahead of Canada (3:55.10) and Wales (4:00.75).
