Cape Town - South Africa's Tatjana Schoenmaker advanced to the final of the women's 50m breaststroke at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games on Thursday.

Swimming in her semi-final, Schoenmaker finished third in a time of 31.01, behind Jamaica's Alia Atkinson (30.53) and England's Sarah Vasey (30.75).
Schoenmaker qualified fifth fastest overall.
Earlier in the day, Schoenmaker swam a personal best and broke the African record with a 30.92 in her 50m breaststroke heat.
The final for the women's 50m breaststroke is scheduled for Friday, April 6 at 11:41 SA time.
