SA's Piketh picks up bronze on Gold Coast

Cape Town - South Africa's Colleen Piketh picked up bronze in the women's lawn bowls singles at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

In the semi-final, Piketh went down 21-17 to eventual gold medallist Jo Edwards of New Zealand.

Piketh, however, bounced back in the bronze medal play-off against Canada's Kelly McKerihen.

The South African had to come from behind, 5-0 after two ends. It got worse and she was 4-11 down after six but Piketh clawed her way to 11-11.

She eventually took the lead for the first time on the 15th end and all square on the 18th at 17-17, Piketh powered her way to defeat McKerihen 21-17.
