Cape Town - Anaso Jobodwana has accepted that he will not compete in Thursday's 200m final at the Commonwealth Games on Australia's Gold Coast.
Jobodwana was disqualified from the event after his false start in Wednesday's semi-final.
The race officials had initially, after consultation, given Jobodwana a green flag and allowed him to continue. Jobodwana went on to finish second in his semi-final and qualify for the final.
However, post-race, Trinidad and Tobago appealed the decision and Jobodwana was ultimately disqualified.
Athletics South Africa (ASA) then appealed the disqualification, but Jobodwana took to Twitter just two hours before the final to accept his fate.
"This time around we lost the fight," he said.
South Africa does still have Clarence Munyai in the 13:56 (SA time) final after the 20-year-old qualified second fastest.
