Cape Town - South African swimming star Chad Le Clos, who equalled Australian Ian Thorpe's Commonwealth Games record haul
of seven medals, has revealed his preparations for Glasgow were affected by illness.

According to the SportsMole website, Le Clos, 22, suffered from asthma and admitted he was "in shocking form" in the weeks before the competition.
"I was on three different pumps and struggling, and not entirely confident coming to these Games," he said.
However, despite his health issues, Le Clos still managed two golds (100m and 200m butterfly), a silver (4x100m freestyle relay) and four bronze medals (50m butterfly, 200m IM, 4x100m medley relay, 4x200m freestyle relay).
