Cape Town - Home improvement giants Builders Warehouse have signed up as sponsors of South Africa’s favourite sports quiz, run in association with Prosport International.
The inaugural event in 2012 saw packed houses in Cape Town and Johannesburg testing their sporting knowledge against the wit of quizmaster Dan Nicholl - and the 2013 edition is set to be even bigger!
Kicking off in Durban at the Durban Country Club on July 24 for the first time, the Builders Sports Quiz also stops in Cape Town (August 29 - venue TBC) and Johannesburg (October 3 - Emperors Palace) and will give sports fans the chance to test their knowledge against each other in the hope of winning fantastic prizes, in the presence of some of Prosport International’s top sporting stars. Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund and Stormers and Springbok front-ranker Pat Cilliers dropped by in 2012 - you never know who you’ll end up competing against this year!
“We are delighted to announce our involvement as the title sponsors in the Builders Sports Quiz Series. The quiz promises to enthrall, entertain, and lobby friendly competition, which provides the perfect platform for us to foster relationships with our target market and familiarise the guests with the Builders brand and its associated values,” said Massbuild Marketing Director Zandile Manana.
Prosport International Commercial Manager David Brooke thanked Builders for coming on board this year to help take the successful quiz series around the country.
“The inaugural sports quizzes last year proved that the combination of sport, beer, quizmaster Dan Nicholl and a bit of friendly competition are the perfect ingredients for a fun night out,” he says.
“Having tables of hardcore fans, heads in hands, stressing about whether John Smit retired with 111 or 112 international caps made for great viewing. This year, we have one of the country’s biggest brands in Builders Warehouse behind us, and we’re delighted that they share our goals for the sports quiz series”.
Brooke says that the inclusion of a Durban event for 2013 will also heat up the competition to prove which region of the country knows their sport the best.
