Earlier this week we announced the winner of Sport24’s first Bokday competition.
Richard Laros, from Kees Beyers Chocolates won three Canterbury Bok Jerseys after the photo of him and his colleagues at work celebrating Bokday was voted the best entry by Sport24 readers. You will have noticed that a large chocolate rugby ball featured in the picture. And we are really chuffed to report that on behalf of Sport24 and Kees Beyers Chocolates, Richard approached the Stars Shelter in Kempton Park, and donated the chocolate rugby ball to them.
Stars Shelter is a shelter caring for 15 boys aged between 13 and 18, rescued from the streets and who are now all in school. Together with chocolate goodie bags for each of the boys and the caregivers, Richard made the boys day. Marcus Mhlongo, the man who made the rugby ball, handed it over to the shelter and you can see the sheer joy in their faces in the picture below.
On behalf of Sport24 we thank Richard and his company for again highlighting how sport can bring people together and put smiles on people’s faces.
Keep an eye out for our next Bokday on August 28, get those Bok Jerseys washed and dried and remember to send them to feedback@sport24.co.za on the Friday, and we will put the best ones up for you to vote for.
