: 30 Seconds To Mars (for the uphills), Kings of Leon (for general inspiration) and Dave Matthew Band (for those super chilled runs).

Reason for doing the Big5:
It’s a challenge and I need to get back on the trails after breaking my wrist a year ago.

Hoping to achieve in the Big5:
Finish with all my bones intact.

Big5 event you are most looking forward to: 
DueSouth Xterra

Big5 event you are least looking forward to:
85km mountain bike!

How much training have you done:
I did the Comrades a month ago and then 3 weeks of training which including 2 mountain bikes, 2 road rides, 4 trail runs and a few spinning sessions at the gym.

The type of training you have done:
Minimal

Event you are most proud to have completed:
The Wildman Challenge - 150km adventure race which took 36 hours! No we didn’t sleep. 

Event you “Blew out” on and why:
The Grabouw Xterra 2008. I finished in an hour longer than the year before because it was at least 45 degrees. People were fainting all over the place.

Best place to party in Knysna:
Is that a question? Crabs Creek but I also love the Champagne and Oyster Cruise.
