Bookies make Sharks marginal favourites v Stormers

accreditation

Cape Town - A titanic battle is expected in the Shark Tank on Saturday as the Stormers visit Durban for what's expected to be a season-defining clash for both sides.

At the halfway mark of their respective seasons, the Sharks find themselves in third spot in the South African Conference and 10th in the Overall log, with just two wins from their eight matches to date.

The Stormers, despite having won an extra match, are fourth and 11th in the SA Conference and Overall standings, respectively.

A further defeat for either side could well derail their playoff challenge.

It really is a dance of the desperates, and leading SA bookmakers BET.co.za have struggled to separate the sides.

The home side are marginal 2.5-handicap point favourites and 7/10 for the outright victory.

The Stormers can be backed at 6/5 with the draw on offer at 22/1.

Kick-off is at 17:15.
