LeBron jets to Germany to watch Caster compete

Cape Town - American basketball star LeBron James travelled to Berlin, Germany on Sunday to watch South African athlete Caster Semenya compete.

Semenya did not disappoint in front of the NBA superstar as she won the women’s 1 000m at the IAAF World Challenge Meeting.

James, who is a superstar for NBA outfit Los Angeles Lakers, met Semenya afterwards and also posed for a picture with the South African athletics star.

Semenya took to Twitter, saying James had made her year by turning up.

Semenya covered the two-and-a-half lap race in 2:30.70 and in the process broke her own national 1 000m record of 2:31.01 which she clocked in Rabat, Morocco in July.
