Cape Town - A trio of South African athletes delivered in style on Thursday morning, going unscathed as they charged into the next rounds of their events on day three of the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Sprint prodigies Clarence Munyai and Gift Leotlela both won their first-round heats in the Men's 200m event.
Munyai, who opted out of the 100m dash to focus on the half-lap contest, stormed to victory in his race in 20.40, crossing the line just 0.04 outside his Personal Best.
Having finished fourth in the 100m final the night before, Leotlela returned to the track to clock 20.63 in his 200m opener.
The duo were the two fastest athletes in the first round as they booked their places in the semi-finals, to be held later in the evening session.
Kefilwe Mogawane also coasted to a convincing victory in his 400m Hurdles heat, setting a Personal Best of 50.53.
Mogawane was set to compete in the semifinals of his specialist event on Friday night after progressing as the fastest qualifier for the penultimate round.
