Manyonga, Samaai dominate long jump in Zurich

Cape Town - It seems that Luvo Manyonga can do no wrong.

The world champion once again dominated the long jump, this time at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich on Thursday evening.

Manyonga took gold from fellow countryman Rushwahl Samaai with a jump of 8.49m, a mere 16cm off his personal best.

Samaai's fifth jump of the evening, an effort of 8.31m, was good enough for silver while Jarrion Lawson (USA) finished third with his best effort finishing at 8.12m.

South Africa's other jumper, Godfrey Khotso Mokoena could not match the form of his compatriots. He finished in 9th position with a jump of 7.13m.
