Shange sets 20km walk record

Cape Town - Lebogang Shange broke the SA 20 000m track record (race walking) on Sunday, June 21 in  Bedford, England.

He clocked 1:23:20 to improve the previous mark of 1:24:51 set by Stanley Valentine in Port Elizabeth in May 1989.

This is Shange's third SA record of the season, after breaking the 3 000m (track) and 20km (road) marks earlier in the year.

He's sponsored by the High Performance Centre at Tuks, but he competes for Central Gauteng Athletics.
