Rihanna snubs Usain Bolt date request

Cape Town - Rihanna has snubbed Olympian Usain Bolt's request for a date after he declared his love for her.

In 2013 the six-time Olympic gold medallist said he was, "in love" with the Work singer and called on her to "hit me up".

However, accoridng to the Ifpress.com website, despite the Jamaican sprinter's status as the fastest man of all time, he says she didn't contact him to arrange a meet.

"No, she's given me no love bro, no love zero love," Bolt told the TMZ website.

The Barbadian musician has recently been pictured getting close to Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio at California's Coachella music festival, reigniting rumours they're dating.

Bolt, 29, doesn't see the Oscar-winner as worthy competition though, saying, "He's no competition for me. I'm tall, I'm handsome I'm dark, I'm the greatest."

Arranging a get-together could be difficult as both Bolt and his pop star crush have busy years ahead of them.

The sprinter is preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August, while Rihanna is in the middle of a world tour in support of her hit album ANTI.

Bolt is once again expected to steal the headlines in Rio as he attempts yet another "three-peat" in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

It would take a brave man to bet against the fastest man in the world not picking up three gold medals for Jamaica.

Bolt has, unbelievably, even talked about lowering his current 200m world record to below the magical 19-second barrier.
