Caster's lawyers take action

Johannesburg - Caster Semenya's lawyers say they will take legal action against Athletics South Africa to allow her to run.

Semenya, who has not run since she won the world title in the 800m last August because she is waiting for the results of her gender verification tests, was denied a chance to race at a meet in Stellenbosch on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old South African is said to be hoping to run at an event in Johannesburg next Tuesday.

Semenya's law firm said they will begin legal action "soon".

ASA administrator Ray Mali said on Thursday he had not received any legal communication from Semenya's lawyers.

ASA says Semenya is ineligible because she is under medical advice from the IAAF.
