Cape Town - A book detailing the rise and fall of murder-accused Oscar Pistorius is to be published shortly after the completion of the athlete's trial, it was announced on Thursday.
The Oscar Pistorius Story will be written by renowned author John Carlin and will be published by Atlantic Books.
Carlin is known for writing Playing the Enemy, which tells the story of Nelson Mandela and his influence on the 1995 World Cup winning Springboks. Carlin was also co-author of the official autobiography of Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal, titled Rafa.
"As a former South Africa correspondent for the Independent and as author of the international bestseller Playing The Enemy, John is the ideal writer to do justice to all the many issues surrounding the Oscar Pistorius case and trial. We're delighted to be publishing his book and much look forward to working with him again," commented Ravi Mirchandani, Editor-in-Chief of Atlantic Books.
Pistorius, the double amputee known as "Blade Runner", is charged with murder for the February 14 shooting death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
He is currently out on bail, with his court appearance scheduled for June 4.
