Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these SIX events (in no particular order)!

1. Soweto Derby

On Saturday, it's the much-anticipated Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. The outcome of the match could determine which team stands the better (only) chance of posing a real threat to log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

In other Absa Premiership encounters, SuperSport United host Maritzburg United (Saturday, 18:00), Platinum Stars take on Free State Stars (Saturday, 20:15) and on Sunday we see Bloemfontein Celtic battle Ajax Cape Town (15:30) and Polokwane City face off against Golden Arrows (15:30).

It's all going down this weekend!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained.

We start off with Burnley hosting Everton (14:30 SA time), Leicester City battle AFC Bournemouth (17:00 SA time), Tottenham Hotspur face Huddersfield Town (17:00 SA time) and we'll see Anfield come alight as Liverpool take on Newcastle United (19:30 SA time).

On Sunday, Brighton & Hove Albion host a determined Arsenal (15:30 SA time) and then the match of the weekend sees log-leaders Manchester City battle reigning Premier League champions Chelsea (18:00 SA time).

The Proteas will be looking to take their India Test success into the four-match series against Australia.

Faf du Plessis and his charges will look to tame Steve Smith's men in the first Test in Durban.

Play gets underway at 10:00 in Kingsmead.

5. WGC - Mexico Championship

We're in Mexico City as the star-studded World Golf Championship heads into the weekend.

Will world No 1 Dustin Johnson defend his title this year or will the red-hot Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler or Jordan Spieth come out tops?

How about a sneaky SA win, Louis ... ?

6. Super Rugby

Round 3 of the Super Rugby action gets under way this weekend.

The Stormers continue their tough overseas tour where they face the reigning Super Rugby champion Crusaders on Saturday (08:35 SA time).

While over at Kings Park the Sharks host the Waratahs (15:05) and then the much-anticipated South Africa derby between the Bulls and the Lions in Pretoria kicks off at 17:15.
