4 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FOUR events!

1. MTN8

It's the MTN8 quarter-finals.

On Saturday, the mouthwatering fixtures include the Mamelodi Sundowns taking on Golden Arrows (15:00), Kaizer Chiefs hosting Free State Stars (18:00) and Orlando Pirates battle defending champions SuperSport United (20:30).

On Sunday, Maritzburg United play host to Cape Town City (15:00).

2. PGA Championship

It's the final major of the year!

All eyes will be on the biggest names in golf as they hit the fairways at the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

Will Justin Thomas defend his title, or will we see Jordan Spieth make history by becoming the youngest player to complete a career Grand Slam?

And how about a sneaky SA win ... Brandon?

3. English Premiership

It's back!

The English Premiership kicks off into action this weekend with games to keep you entertained Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

All eyes will be on Pep Guardiola's men and whether Manchester City can defend their title... Or will we see some fight back from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal?

All that we know is that it's going to be one awesome season!

4. Sri Lanka v Proteas, 5th ODI

The Proteas have clinched the ODI series against Sri Lanka, as they are leading 3-1 ahead of the final ODI.

With the Cricket World Cup less than a year away, can the Proteas - led by stand-in skipper Quinton de Kock - finalise their winning combinations?

Sunday's fifth ODI gets under way at 11:00 SA time.
