3 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these THREE events!

1. English Premiership 

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained this weekend.

We start off with Brighton & Hove Albion facing Manchester United at the American Express Community Stadium on Friday (21:00 SA time).

On Saturday, Stoke City play host to Crystal Palace (13:30 SA time), West Bromwich Albion try to tame Tottenham Hotspurs (16:00 SA time) and Everton face Southampton in Goodison Park (18:30 SA time).

On Sunday, the Premier League champions Manchester City host Huddersfield Town (14:30 SA time) and Chelsea are desperately looking for a win to try and edge closer to a Champions League spot when they face Liverpool (17:30 SA time).

2. PRO14 qualifiers

The Cheetahs face Welsh side Scarlets in a PRO14 qualifier in Llanelli.

The winner advances to an away semi-final against Glasgow Warriors.

Will the Bloemfontein franchise defy all odds and stun the defending PRO14 champions?

Kick-off on Saturday is at 19:35 SA time.

In the other qualifier, Johann van Graan's Munster take on Edinburgh (16:15 SA time).

3. Super Rugby

Round 12 of the Super Rugby action gets under way on Saturday.

We first start off in Wellington as the Hurricanes take on the Lions (09:35 SA time) and the Waratahs face the Blues (11:45 SA time).

Back in SA at Newlands, the Stormers gear up for the Bulls in their SA derby (15:05) and the Sharks host the Highlanders (17:15).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
