The Stormers are expected to lose the services of flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis after the flyhalf opted out of his contract with the union.

Thursday represented a 'transfer deadline day' for South Africa's Super Rugby franchises with it being the last of a 21-day window for players to exit their current contracts in the face of more lucrative offers from elsewhere. 

This window was granted as part of SA Rugby's cost-cutting efforts in the struggle against the global coronavirus crisis, and it has made for a nervous few hours for the country's franchise coaches and the union administrators.
