Let an independent panel of honest experts say if they felt, at the time, that Domingo's appointment as coach was primarily good for cricket as opposed to being primarily good for transformation; transformation in its raw truth implying that whites need to be replaced by non-whites everywhere in the general South African spectrum, even cricket. The answer must be based on these criteria: What irrefutable evidence existed that Domingo had the cricketing expertise, team control and discipline-enforcement skills and expertise in strategic game analysis and planning, better than other available candidates, to qualify unreservedly for the post? Let those experts then also weigh him against other names like Jennings and two or three most prominent other alternatives whose names automatically come to mind. Could the inclusion of every player on the basis of his cricketing skills really and honestly be justified or did a colour quota play a meaningful role in selections? If the selected coach was not necessarily the best coach, and if every player is not necessarily the best player the world should know it and the team should not be called our national team, but indeed a "Politically Selected Transformation Team." If this kind of political interference persists a campaign to inform the world of the truth behind the negative, manipulative role of politics in South African sport could perhaps be imminent. Bardip
