The Stormers’ biggest hurdle to overcome is on their ATTACK!
Don’t get me wrong, I am a Stormers supporter through thick and thin and will always be but also one of the first to say that they have absolutely no creativity on attack. ONE match where they scored 4 tries (Brumbies @ Newlands) to secure a 5 point bonus win.
Stormers end the 2013 campaign having scored only 30 tries in 18 fixtures, that’s a statistic of 1.66 tries per game which is certainly not going to cut it! All season long they have been passing the ball down the line to the end and it’s up to that guy to do something with it. The defence is still great, cannot complain there and the overall play is ok. Discipline and lineouts need to be fixed as they lost far too many “own throws” this season
The Sport 24 readers are correct, Stormers coaches and management need to implement better strategies, especially on attack, and get on with it.
