Ref bungles unacceptable!

Well, there you have it… BL has admitted that he had a shocker of a game due to “outside influences” and “pressure”…

This for South African rugby supporters is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I know that it is now too late and nothing can be done about it but it goes to show that the Bokke would have made that match and quite possibly all the way to the final and could have even won it making the history book as the only country to have won it three times, two in a row holding the title. Looking at how poor NZ were in that final, I am sure the Bokke would have brought that beautiful gold cup back home yet again!

I can tell you that talk among many a social circle in South Africa is that the 2011 RWC was fixed, all to let New Zealand make the final at least. Remember all the pressure on the NZRU that they are always ranked #1 in the world but haven’t won the Webb Ellis since the opening tournament? Most Saffa’s are saying “put two and two together…” The result of Australia vs Ireland ensured a SA v AUS semi-final in order to take SA out…

Something has to be done about the refereeing when it is extremely poor like that. The 2012 Currie Cup has also proved to be a shock when it comes to calls and especially TMO referrals… Some teams are always getting the benefit of the whistle and others, never. A good example of this is the “INCREDIBLE” fight back by the Sharks against the Cheetahs in Durban. 2 deliberate forward passes that were allowed in unacceptable!

I know it is tough when you are on the field and have to make the calls without television angles and slow-mo but something has to be done. There is no excuse for TMO’s who up until the beginning of this Currie Cup, have been good.

Game decisions are too often decided by the referee’s!!

Sad though that BL will now be taking up such a responsible position...
