Punish bad refereeing

For poor refereeing in general and bad decisions made, referees should lose a percentage of their match fee and be carded for two games from refereeing or assisting.

That is, of course, if the people on the referee’s board are any better than the referees themselves, and then of course to be in a position to convene a meeting every week to adjudicate the previous weekend’s games.

Too much is at stake in all or most games to accept downright bad refereeing decisions.
