Cape Town - Sport24 readers fail to understand how the Proteas, so dominant in Tests, can be so disappointing in other forms of the game.

Following the Proteas' crushing 95-run defeat to Pakistan in their second T20, and their embarrassing ODI series loss against New Zealand, Sport24 readers have become increasingly puzzled by the inability of the Proteas to convert their success in Tests to the shorter forms of the game.

Here's what Sport24 readers had to say about the Proteas' latest loss to Pakistan:

"Proteas are ranked number one in the world and they can't win all the games they play! They will bounce back for sure! A mickey T-20 nogal!" - Sadick Monareng

"Pathetic Proteas performance? Perfectly played, Pakistan!"
- Dennis Hibbert

"This match shows what a joke T20 is. Hafeez couldn't get the ball off the square in the tests, but now is suddenly a hero....please CSA, none of this hit and miss stuff...more tests please!" - Vishen

"Someone say HansieGate." - goyougoodthing

"Pakistan are T20 world champions and no doubt they looked way better today than they did in the Tests. Proteas need a T20 team overhaul."
- boom.afridi56

"T20 is a cash cow for countries the world over, its not going to go away. I agree that it is not the same as Tests in terms of pushing the players and truly embracing the spirit of cricket, but if people honestly think that we can go on being the kings of Test cricket and using that as an excuse to downplay our failures and other countries succeses in the shorter formats then not only will we look like a bunch of colossal jackasses, but we will also fall behind in terms of skill development. The game is evolving we have to evolve with it in all the formats not just one. Complacency is the enemy." - ledzepkid.zn

"What a crappy team ... Don't see us going far with that bowling and batting line up ... T20 is definitely not our strong point ..."
- Severiano Vorster

"We pay no attention to limit overs cricket and seem to play our C teams."
- Koos Meyer

"According to the coach (Russel Domingo) they are busy creating their own culture in the T20 team, please hand the team back over to Gary Kirsten." - Anton Anton

"I still don't see the reason why we have to have to different coaches. It doesn't make sense. You build a good team not only with the players but also with a coach. We have the talent, we have the coach. Get it right guys. Still 100% Proteas supporter."
- John Henry McDuling

"Different coaches, different captains! Why?" - Pixie86

"Another pathetic display, again showing how mentally fragile SA are in limited overs cricket." - Najanivea

"I am wondering why were our experienced players rested when this match decided who won the series?" - cynthia.biljoen

"Poor batting performance. We need JP Duminy back in that middle order desperately. If we persist with AB as an opener in T20n then we need someone as sold as he was in the middle order." Granville Paulse

"Proteas nothing without Amla and Kallis."
- Adeeb Saban

"All is good in test cricket for SA, but they need to seriously look again at team make up and strategies in the shorter versions of the game." - David Keith Dyason

"If we are preparing for a T20 world cup, shouldn't we be playing with our best team?"
- Mike O'Connor

"The answer of the crushing loss is easy to find. The selectors refuses to take 20/20 seriously and always choose a team that are either out of form, or insist in choosing an entire different squad from the Test side."
- theo dupreez
