One day the sun will shine on the Proteas

my 5c worth on our WC exit...a sea saw game that could have gone either way. One of the best WC games ever. So what is SA fans reaction...3 missed run outs, drop catches, bad bowling, choking pics..really...really...U R Ok...so PATHETIC....what about the Black Caps drop catches, missing a vital AB run out... conceding 130odd in last 10 overs SA batted...that's all part of high pressure knockout cricket. Our fans...half who never played the game properly on social media will always look at our few mistakes...Like golf you just dont play a perfect game of cricket. What about our terrific comeback after losing the openers early, what about Faf's patient knock, what about AB and Miller's carnage in the last 10, what about Tahir's great bowling spell, what about the great fightback in the middle overs, what about that desperate fielding on the small boundary's saving many a run ...

We were screwed from day one with no proper all rounder, yet most of you were quite happy Kallis retired. Yes i gave up on them too, but today...today the boys left it all out on the field and we end up 1 ball short from being in a historic final. Every time we played everyone (press and social media), went on about us having to bat 1st. Yet today with that in the back of our minds as soon as the coin fell on heads AB opted for the safe decision to bat. The safe decision to bat when its clear rain will play a role and the brave decision on any other day is to chase without any uncertainty on a small field and use suitable bowling conditions 1st up.

The most destructive ODI batter in the world plundered us all over, changing the game in the 1st 5 overs, yet we pulled it back, the boys showed courage, showed heart, showed the guts thats needed to play the game at the highest level...but what do we do...we slack them as soon as an x SA A player smashes the winning runs for their adopted country. Ill rather not go into that story. Top effort by a team probably let down a little by selectors and set up of the team rather than calling them chokers. That a side, someday the sun will shine on us at a World Cup Cricket tournie, hopefully its the time when fans have a bit more appreciation in what players try to achieve for the people of this country.
