Greetings from kiwi land,
Sir the question you ask is not fair on the referee when you consider the time he saw the incident - adjudicated and acted (as an individual)....
Then compare the replays and the time we have to consider the tackle and discuss it with our mates while the games still carrying on the incident completely forgotten by the referee.
I think the question posed should be “did Bismark du Plessis deserve to be sent off for the tackle on Carter”?...Quite obviously to all of us spectators both Black and Green the answer is no.
The tackle on Messam was in my view dangerous though not intentional, dangerous in that you don’t fend off using an elbow it could be argued the time that he had to get his palm in front of his elbow to make the fend – would be the same amount of time the ref had to make his decision.
A good game and good teams I thought.
