How we became number 1

We became the no.1 test team, because we found the right mix of players, that could perform and take the game away from the oponent. Smith was a good captain and had " endless opportunities" to win or fail, make decisions and live with them.Somehow there's too much gripe being made of it, and biasness and one has to wonder if there we players like a KP in the proteas squad, that lived on a career whatever the outcome. Great players like Steve Waugh ended on many highs, winning tests and world cups! All formats count, its cricket, not selective cricket, else why does Kallis indulge in IPL or want to play in the ODI world cup ? For the money? Don't attack , respect starts with choice, like the choice of when a captain chooses to step down, because he knows he is not contributing to teams performance. Pontings career ended with the Proteas.Smiths with OZ. Why didn't Kallis retire at newlands? Fans are just emotional, with our backs to the wall, everyone knows this is an important test.No one likes to lose, and even Oz fans or english fans are any different!!!
