I dont know – even last season when everything was going there way one felt they had such a vulnerable batting line up. De Kock is a great prospect but the nature of his game means he is one of those guys that will go cheaply very often (and win games on his own when he gets in) and without Mckenzie to hold it together the batting lineup in India and in these first few games looked very brittle.
Speaking of reliance on guys like Mckenzie I also got to say if guys like Justin Kemp and Nicky Boje can still find a key place in their sides then one has to ask where the youngsters are. Experience is critical to cricket sides but when players start developing spare wheels around their wastes its time to consider alternative careers to playing.
