Give Lambie another chance!

Lambie looked promising and deserve another shot. Not the best performance by the entire team hence it was always going to be difficult for him to stamp his authority on the match. Their is also a huge focus on the big ball carriers taking the ball up. I would like to see those ball carriers play of him. It would just give more options on attack rather than the big men taking it up straight from the scrumhalf. It would confuse the defense as it gives the flyhalf the option to play the bigger ball runners into the gap, attack the gain line himself or play the backline. Elton Jantjies has done this with great success for the Lions but somehow did not make the 23man squad. Ruan Pienaar looked sharp and cleared fast and efficiently but not enough was being done to confuse the defense meaning the Irish could prepare very well for the collision and the Boks could not really penetrate the gain line with great effect and the result was that they had to work harder.

They made it much easier for an in-experienced Irish side to play them then what was anticipated. With Lambie there, Heynecke should have build his plan around him to greater effect. He might as well have played Morne Steyn as well as the role of the Lambie was limited.
