Cape Town - Sport24 readers believe Jake White's Cell C Sharks are South Africa's best bet for a Super Rugby trophy in the 2014 season.

In Sport24's online poll, 49% of Sport24 readers backed the Sharks to win the competition.

The Stormers were second favourites with 20% of the vote and the Bulls came third with 12%.

Remarkably, only 4% backed the Cheetahs after their Cinderella season last year, and only 9% of readers believed a New Zealand or Australian team would win it.

The Lions picked up 6% of the vote.

Sport24 asked:

"Which South African team do you think has the best chance of winning the 2014 Super Rugby tournament?"

These were the results:

49% - Sharks
20% - Stormers
12% - Bulls
9% - None of them. A South African team WON'T win it...
6% - Lions
4% - Cheetahs
