Fans keep faith in Heyneke

Cape Town - Two losses against the best team in the world is no reason to lose faith in Heyneke Meyer's master plan, Sport24 readers say.

Over 3 out of 4 readers still gave their backing to the current Springbok coach, despite the coach's inability to beat the All Blacks so far in four games during his tenure at the helm of the Springboks.

Besides his four matches against the All Blacks, Meyer has only lost one other match as Springbok coach - against the Wallabies in Australia in the 2012 Rugby Championship - although he also oversaw draws against Argentina and England.

Criticised for conservative tactics in 2012, Meyer has in one year revolutionised the Springbok gameplan and revitalised their attacking play.

However, sooner or later he will have to get over his All Blacks hoodoo if he is to ultimately silence his detractors.

Sport24 asked:

"Do you have faith in coach Heyneke Meyer taking the Springboks to the 2015 Rugby World Cup?
"

These were the results:

76% - Yes. Despite losses to the All Blacks, the Springboks have shown a marked improvement
24% - No. The team selection, tactics, use of substitutions and defence leave much to be desired
