Fans: Hashim for top gong!

Cape Town - Sport24 readers have backed Proteas batsman Hashim Amla to be awarded the ICC Player of the Year award for 2013.

Amla, England’s James Anderson and Alastair Cook, Australia's Michael Clarke, India's MS Dhoni and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara have all been short-listed for the top honours at this year’s ICC Awards.
 
The six have been short-listed for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Cricketer of the Year, with the awards to be announced in a TV show that will be broadcast on December 14.

Amla is ranked second overall on the ICC's list of the top Test batsmen, as well as being ranked fourth on the list of top ODI batsmen.

Sport24 asked:

"The six-man shortlist for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year has been revealed. Who gets your vote?"

These were the results:

81% - Hashim Amla (SA)
13% - MS Dhoni (India)
4% - Michael Clarke (Australia)
2% - Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)
0% - James Anderson (England)
0% - Alastair Cook (England)
