I am with KP on this one. He has always been direct about issues, even if people did not want to hear about them. I can believe the main gang of daddy’s boy Broad, Prior, Cook and Anderson bullied the youngsters. I know from a friend who plays 2nd division county cricket that Prior is a very self-centered boytjie & certain comments were directed toward Kieswetter about never being able to make the test squad.
Then you have the coach safeguarding this clique due to his own dislike of KP. Heck, if I was KP, under such circumstances, I would not just have been looking out of the window during dressing room meetings, I would have been farting & spitting my nails around. It must have been a terrible environment.
Regarding the leaked report on cricinfo – It is not difficult to read between the lines of what the ECB was trying to construct with the allegations against KP. What else do you expect if the chairman, the coach & the clique players have a problem with you?
I think at the end of the day KP was not british enough, and this combined with him being the highest run-scorer, bothered the main “gang” within the team. How can an “outsider” hold high their beloved flag, outplay the local lads and become one of the country’s leading personalities. Envy has many faces.
