Yes, OK we just shaded our opponents in the last few
games ... Jean shld stay captain s/term ... heynecke improves his stats ... But
i fear our lack of adventure in our play will result in losses against the
AB's, a rejuvenated Wallaby team, the french and yes, possibly even a South
Pacific nation! And that's a shame because our backs have so much more to
offer. Who would want to play on the wing for the boks these days? I almost
wish that the boks had lost some of those close games (which could easily have
happened) which would have been the catalyst to review our style.
Finally I have watched every international over this last month and lets face it, except for the fact that they were often close games - they were boring in terms of entertaining rugby. Who remembers the days of thrilling back line moves, end-to-end 15 man running rugby playing the AB's, lions, etc? Maybe its the rules but somehow we must bring that X factor back if we want our game to survive as a spectacle.
