Cape Town - After garnering much criticism for his style of driving, Formula 1 prodigy Max Verstappen has revealed that he will not change the way he races because his colleagues are complaining about him.

The criticism ignited after the Red Bull youngster aggressively defended his position against Ferrari veteran Kimi Raikkonen during the Belgium Grand Prix, which didn’t bode well across the Formula 1 world.

However, Verstappen defended himself by saying that it is not in his DNA to ease up on his opposition because they are moaning about him, while using Manchester United Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as an example to express his opinion.

"Well you have to see it like this: Let's say you put Ibrahimovic instead of attacking you put him as a defender, would he like it?" Verstappen said.

"Just because other people think he's a better defender, I don't think he will listen to those guys.

"He likes to attack, he wants to attack. It’s not because other drivers tell me that I have to change my driving style that I’ll change my driving style.

"To be honest for me Spa is done. I think in general it was a great weekend, I enjoyed it a lot.

"Especially to see so many fans coming to the track with the orange colours it was amazing to see. So for me what happened in the race can happen sometimes but I just focus ahead to Monza.

"I think it was all pretty clear. Like I said I don’t like to stay in the past what happened there, I just focus ahead and try to push again and just do my thing and show my driving style like it was before."
