Mercedes want quick decision on Rosberg deal

Montreal - Mercedes chief Toto Wolff wants his team to resolve any problems with a new contract for Nico Rosberg as soon as possible and has said he is not considering any other drivers.

The 30-year-old German's current deal expires this year and the team are negotiating with his representative, former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger.

"We want to continue with Nico and he wants to continue with us," Wolff told reporters in the paddock at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Friday on the sidelines of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix.

"We are having discussions that and very positive. We are not talking to anybody else.

"This is a commitment we owe to him. He has been part of the journey since 2010 and I am very optimistic that we will come to a solution soon."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
