Magnussen gets the green light for Monza

Monza - After suffering a devastating crash in Spa at the Belgium Grand Prix, Renault driver Kevin Magnussen has been given the go-ahead by the FIA to race at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

Although it looked like a horrendous crash on lap six of the race, the Dane was pleased to discover that all he sustained was a bruised ankle.

After going through several tests and examinations since the incident, the 23-year-old received positive feedback from medical experts that he will be fit to race on Sunday, but it was only confirmed on Thursday afternoon by FIA medical delegate Jean Charles Piette.

However, Magnussen will have to use a spare chassis for this weekend’s action as the damage done to the previous one was far too severe to fix.
